October 30, 1957 - December 15, 2020
Scott Edward Thomas On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Scott E. Thomas, loving husband and father, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 63. He was holding the hands of his wife and three children as they said their goodbyes. Scott was born on October 30, 1957 in Spokane, Washington to Florence and William Thomas. On August 16, 1986 Scott married the love of his life, Donna. They would be married 34 wonderful years and be blessed with three amazing children to raise together. His family lived in the little farmhouse that Scott spent his spare time fixing up. He loved a good project and could be found all around the property building, fixing or helping the kids. He was always including his children to help him with his projects. A goal of his was to make sure that his children would be self-sufficient and prepared for anything when the time would come that they move out and start their own families. He taught them to fix a flat tire, change the oil in their cars, or fix anything that was broken. It was especially important for Scott to always tell his family he loved them, and how much they meant to him. His family will miss hearing him say "I love you byyyeee!!!" after every phone call or visit. Scott had a very loving nature and it was clear that he had a heart for helping others. If his wife or children needed anything, he was the first one there ready to help. He loved to throw the ball for hours each morning with his Black Lab Sam. They were best friends and Sam could always be found at his side, or in his lap (even if the chair was not big enough for both of them). When Scott was not helping his family, he was playing with his collection of Lionel Trains. He was like a kid at Christmas when a new train magazine or package would arrive. Scott's uplifting smile and big heart will be greatly missed. He is proceeded in death by his father William Thomas of Spokane. He is survived by his wife Donna Thomas of Kennewick, daughter Carrie Grimes (Rylan) of West Richland, son Kyle Thomas (Kyndi) of Spokane and daughter Katie Thomas of Chicago. He is also survived by his mother, Florence Thomas of Spokane, sister Becky Weaver (Greg) of Spokane, nieces Dana and Michaela Weaver of Spokane, sister Stacy of Spokane and nephews Garret (Heather) and Grant of Spokane. The family is choosing not to have a service at this time but are planning to have a celebration of life next summer at their daughter Carrie's place.
