July 24, 1935 - July 15, 2021
Sad to say but Richard "Dick" Mullins passed away July 10th, 2021. He was born in Las Vegas, NV on July 24th, 1935 where he sold newspapers and shined shoes on the newly built "Vegas Strip" as a kid. The family moved north and he graduated high school from Hoover High where he was a 3-sport athlete. Shortly after high school he joined the United States Marine Corps on March 31st, 1954. He was awarded the Certificate as the Outstanding Marksman of his platoon with a score of 223 and was known as "Dead Eye Dick." This skill served him well throughout his life as he bagged many deer and pheasants. He was honorably discharged in 1957 after spending some memorable time overseas in Okinawa after the ceasefire in Korea. The next chapter brought graduating from Central Washington University, marriage to Janice Weisz and two sons, Doug and David. They lived in Port Angeles where he loved to fish for the elusive and hard fighting steelheads. He was an avid sportsman, even in his later years, and could be found on the banks of the Tucannon Lakes fishing alongside his grandkids, Elijah, Sam, Lexi, Greyson, and his buddy Tom Rus. He had a passion for commercial real estate and businesses. He owned and ran Continental Business Investments plus a bar and couple restaurants. He had a second marriage to Beverly Southwick and was a stepfather and friend to her older sons, Bud and Whitney Southwick. He loved to fish and hunt with her brother, Spence Southwick, too. He lived a long and adventurous life. He is missed by many. Graveside service will be on Tuesday July, 27th at 10:00 A.M. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on 10th and Union.
