Juanita Batin Yadao

Juanita (Batin) Yadao, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2022 with her family by her side. Juanita was born to Violet and Pete Batin on March 28, 1940 in Toppenish, Washington. She graduated from Wapato High School in 1958. Juanita lived most of her life in Kennewick, Washington where she and her husband, Jerry, owned and operated Yadao Produce. Juanita was an elder of the Yakama Nation. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Violet Kahama Batin and Pete P. Batin; her brother, David Batin; her husband, Gerardo (Jerry) Yoro Yadao; her oldest son, Romeo Richard and her oldest daughter, Deborah Yadao Zaring. Juanita is survived by her brother, Pedro Batin (Tina); her sister, Victoria Mandac (Don); son Cres (Gil) Yadao (Ramona) of Kennewick, WA; daughter Terri Hale (Ron) of Richland, WA; Lisa Hinton (Walter) of Spokane, WA; her grandchildren: Michelle Blazon (Michael); Lesley Coffey (Brandon); Jessica Rammelsberg (Erik); Danielle Yadao, Kirsten Hale, Austin Hale, Klaire Grey, Braxton Hinton and Carissa Hinton. Juanita has seven great grandchildren- Landyn, Lorelai, Elliot, Liam, Carter, Luka and Rowan. After farming with her husband, Juanita was employed by Mid-Columbia Library, Columbia Industries and retired from her career as a Personnel Specialist for Work Source. In her early years Juanita enjoyed dancing, fishing, sewing, crocheting, and crafting. Juanita idolized Elvis and he was her number one entertainer. Juanita always grew a hearty garden in which she shared the fruits of her labor with her friends and family. Orchids were a favorite of Juanita's, which she successfully maintained, as well as flowers in her garden and household plants. Juanita selflessly gave of her time volunteering at Tri-Cities Cancer Care, Meals On Wheels and in the library at her grandchildrens' school. Juanita took pleasure in going to casinos and playing the slot machines with her daughters Debi and Terri. Most of all, Juanita loved her family and friends. One of her greatest delights was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Juanita was a fabulous cook, specializing in Filipino food. Her family often asked her to make adobo, pancit, sweet and sour ribs, lumpia, drop donuts and Filipino desserts, along with many other dishes. Juanita was a kind, sweet, strong and caring lady. She was passionate about her family, dedicated to loving each of them unconditionally, making many sacrifices to provide for her children and grandchildren. She would give her last penny and the shirt off her back. Juanita was always welcoming to family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 starting at 12:30 pm, followed by Rosary at 1:00 pm and funeral mass at 1:30 pm at Parish of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7409 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick, WA 99336. A Celebration of Life will be held following funeral mass at the Holiday Inn, 4525 Convention Place, Pasco WA.
