Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Willy Smith, 72, of Richland, Washington, a beloved husband, brother, father and friend to many, on July 14, 2026. Born in January 28, 1954, in the charming town of Belfort, France, Willy lived a life full of love, warmth, laughter, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.

Willy's journey was marked by his service to his country, serving as a medic in the US Army. His dedication and compassion during his military service reflected his deep care and selfless nature that defined and followed him through every chapter of his life.

A man of many interests, Willy's last and greatest passion was playing pool. Whether he was gathered with friends at Two Bits & A Bite or enjoying a quiet evening in his specially-built shed, Willy found joy and camaraderie in every game. He was an enthusiastic member of Wednesday and Thursday night pool leagues where his skill and sportsmanship were appreciated by all.

Willy vibrant spirit was matched only by his warm and loving nature. Known for being a little silly in the best way, he was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. His infectious laughter and kind heart touched everyone he met, creating lasting friendships that spanned for decades.

He found love and built a beautiful partnership with his wife of 21 years, Anne, and their marriage became the cornerstone of a life well lived. He was a beloved brother to Andre', a cherished father to his son and his wife, Sam and Cassie, to his nephew, Riley, to Anne's children and their partners, Florian, Manon, Leslie and Didier and to his bonus grandchildren, Lou, Mahe' and Arthur. Though his family was small, it was filled with love and countless memories.

Willy's life will be celebrated on July 23, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Mueller's Funeral Home, located 1401 S Union, Kennewick.

Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the memory of a man who brought so much joy to the world. As we bid farewell to Willy, let us cherish the laughter, the love and the unbreakable bonds he created. May his soul rest in peace and may his memory be a guiding light for all who were fortunate enough to know him.
