William D. Evans, born February 22, 1926, in Baker, Oregon, passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 2, 2022, with his loving daughter at his bedside. Bill was born to parents, John Evans and Mary McClannanhan and spent his childhood in Baker City and Union, Oregon. He married Dolly Byington and from this union they had two children, Steven and Sheryl. Bill and Dolly later divorced, and he married Mickey Pearson of Clarkston, Washington. Bill was a devoted husband who cared for Mickey during a long battle with dementia. As a young man Bill trained as an auto mechanic in an apprentice program. This eventually led Bill to a career at Columbia Basin College where he started as an auto mechanic instructor in the vocational training program. While at CBC he continued his college education and completed his master's degree in education. He later rose to the position as Associate Dean of the CBC Vo-tech department. He retired from CBC after 25 years of service. He spent over 50 years in the Tri-Cities and always called this area home. Bill was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and a good golf game. He leaves his children, Steven (grandchildren Shannon and Tony) and Sheryl and Tony Carabba (grandchildren Eric, Kayla, and Tommy). Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 9 at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennew ick.
