William "Bill" Baxter passed away December 2, 2011, in Kennewick, WA. Bill was born on November 28, 1929, at Caldwell, Idaho. He was the oldest son of William John and Alice Ethel Kline Baxter. Bill graduated from Adrian High School in 1948. Bill married Verla J. McDermott on January 27, 1951. In 1954 they moved to the Tri-City area, where Bill worked at Hanford as a pipefitter for most of his career. Bill was a proud member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 598. Bill was quiet, hardworking man who loved his wife and three children. He also enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing, camping, and water skiing. Bill was longstanding member of West Highlands Methodist Church in Kennewick, Washington. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Verla, three children, Darrell Baxter Delene of Kennewick, Debra Baxter of East Peoria, Illinois, and Lanae Legard Joe of Kennewick, two brothers, Gene Phyllis and Dwain Linda Baxter, 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held in his honor in the spring of 2012.
