Our husband, father, grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 2, 2018. Wilbur was born to Ray and Erma Johnson in Douglass, KS on August 9, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Lee and Boyd Johnson and his son-in-law, Mark Mathes. He is survived by his wife of 68 plus years, Betty, his daughter Elaine Mathes, son, Joe (Jolene) Johnson, daughter Terrie (Dennis) Zeigler. His seven grandchildren, Christopher (Jo), Hawk, Leigh Ann (Alex) Martinez, Jennifer (Derek) Lovvorn, Josiah (Chenyn) Johnson, Sara (Paul) Little, Lisa (Andy) Allen, Denny (Rachel) Zeigler, and twenty great-grandchildren. Wilbur was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, Pasco, WA since 1964. He was active in the bus ministry and loved taking trips on the church's Greyhound bus with the teens and adults to Hammond, Indiana. He retired from Boise Cascade as a truck driver in 1986. He was a quiet but shining example to his family and friends of faith, integrity, and character. He was greatly loved and will be tremendously missed by Betty, his children, and grandchildren. His favorite verse in the King James Bible was John 3:16. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 7th at 11:00am at Riverview Baptist Church at 4921 W. Wernett in Pasco. Donations can be made in his name to the Bus Ministry or KOLU at Riverview Baptist Church.
