Whitney Marcella Krom was born January 13, 1966 in Kennewick, Washington. Whitney's formative years were spent in Kennewick where she attended public schools. Her father moved the family to Indonesia where Whitney attended Singapor American High School, until she returned to spend her senior year at Kamiakin High School Class of 1984. As a young adult, she had various jobs in the Tri Cities, when she met and married Brian Krom. They welcomed their son Andrew in 1992. Whitney's second son Nick was born in 2002. As a single mother, she moved her boys to Oregon for a short time. She later became a caregiver to her grandmother in Benton City, Washington. Whitney remained in Benton City until her passing February 5, 2020. Whitney preceded her father Tod Smith in death until his passing four days later. She leaves behind her sons Andrew Krom, Kennewick and Nick Devlin of Yakima, Washington. Her mother and stepfather Marcia and Tim Mahoney, her brother and his wife Dustin and Sheila Smith, children Jayden and Dalton. Her stepmother Sandi Smith and stepsister Audi Long and her sons Braden and Brett. She also leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles and many cousins. Whitney will forever be deeply missed and loved by all who knew her.
