Wayne Nolan Monson, 67 years old of Pasco, WA died Wednesday, December 8th 2009 at Lourdes Medical Center after post heart surgery complications at Deaconess Medical Center. The family would like to thank the emergency response team and other medical professionals for their assistance. Wayne was born Friday, May 15, 1942 in Pocatello, ID, son of the late Edward Nolan Monson and June Larsen Monson. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where in his young years he served a mission to Canada. He has also served in the capacity of Bishop, Stake Young Mens President, High Priest Group Leader, Stake Clerk, High Councilman, Temple Worker, and many others. He and his wife Julie recently returned from serving a mission in Rensselaer, Indiana where Wayne touched many lives. He has also served in Kiwanis Club and the Boy Scouts of America. Wayne earned a Masters Degree in Agriculture Economics from Utah State University. He also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Brigham Young University. He spent the majority of his career working as a fieldman and manager for Cenex and Western Farmers where many seasoned farmers relied on his vast expertise. He spent the last few years of his career counseling clients on financial issues something he also loved to do. He is survived by his wife Julie Monson, his mother, June Monson and by his children Laurie Garcia Jose, Denae Jeppson Paul, Eldon Monson Stephenie, Jana Tippets Darik, Teresa Oldham David, Lance Monson Brianna, Melissa Rowe Bryan, and siblings Luetta Monson, Stuart Monson, Edward Monson, Karla Cheney, Scott Monson, and Alaine Monson. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Nolan Monson. Please join us for a general viewing at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home in Pasco on Sunday, December 13th from 6:00-8:00pm. Services will be held at the Pasco Stake Center, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2004 Rd. 24, Monday, December 14th at 11:00 am. Wayne has always engaged himself in studying the gospel. He gained a deep Testimony and love for his Savior Jesus Christ. Wayne loved and served others well. Aside from his beautiful wife Julie, his greatest treasures are his children and his 27 grandchildren. We are going to miss having our hero around, but take great comfort in knowing that he lived a great life and left an enduring legacy.
