Wayne C. Jackson (May 29, 1939 – July 22, 2024)

Wayne C. Jackson, born in Lillie, LA, on May 29, 1939, was a man of unwavering dedication and compassion. His journey began on a farm in Bonita, LA, where he learned the values of hard work and resilience. As a student, Wayne excelled, eventually attending Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and also receiving his Master's Degree in Mathematics from Central Washington University.

It was at Southern University that Wayne met his lifelong partner, Katie Fontenot. Their love story blossomed, culminating in their marriage on June 24, 1965. Recently, they celebrated 59 years of companionship—a testament to their enduring bond.

Wayne's passion for education led him to Pasco, where he worked tirelessly as a guidance counselor at Pasco High School. His impact extended beyond the classroom; he played a pivotal role in launching the Tri-Tech Skills Center and served as a vocational counselor there. Wayne's commitment to education also led him to active involvement in the Pasco Association of Educators, where he served as President for a number of years.

Along with his work in the schools, Wayne also coached Little League Baseball, fostering the growth of both boys and girls who played on his team. Wayne and Katie were also instrumental in founding Afro-Americans for an Academic Society (AAAS).

In 1998, Wayne retired from the Pasco School District after 28 years of dedicated service. But retirement didn't slow him down. An entrepreneur at heart, Wayne ran the London Broiler restaurant for several years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish American Tax Consultants (ATC) 50 years ago. Evenings after his full-time job at Pasco High, Wayne diligently helped clients with their taxes. Today, ATC continues under the capable leadership of his sons, Kedrich and Von.

Wayne's zest for life extended to the poker table, known to his cohorts as JackyBoy. Texas Hold-Em was his game of choice. His laughter, wisdom, competitive spirit, and proclamations of "Make it happen!" enriched the lives of those around him.

Wayne leaves behind a loving family: his wife Katie; sons Kedrich (Avonte), Von (Kristi), and Chad Lute (Mary); and seven cherished grandchildren—Brittany, Talya, Jarel, CJ, Cydney, Dyson, and Ryelle. His brothers Nat (Thelma) and Stone (Lajoi), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, carry forward his legacy.

Wayne is also survived by his son Shedrick Lewis, who resides in Louisiana. He reunites in eternity with his parents, Nazareth and Fannie Jackson, as well as his siblings Cloradean, Aflean, and Sandy Ray. His son Michael, who lived in New York, also precedes him in death.

Wayne C. Jackson's impact on the world will forever resonate—a life well-lived, a legacy of love and service.
