Wayne L. Avery, 74, of Pasco, WA, passed away at home on April 7, 2008. He lived in the Tri-Cities area for 50 years. Wayne was born to Kathryn McKinney and Kenneth Avery and was raised in Stevensville, Montana. He was a teacher for 26 years; teaching at Hamilton, Montana, and Springdale School District, Kennewick Middle School, Kennewick High School, and Burbank High School, WA. He taught math, science, and driver's training and also had coached golf and basketball. He was also co-owner of Stu's Teamsports from 1978 to 1992 and had made a lot of friendships through the store. After retirement, Wayne spent countless time at the Tri-Cities Country Club golfing with his buddies. He truly loved that the most in his retirement. Wayne married Susan Tobin in 1990, and shared 18 wonderful years. They loved doing everything together. Good times were enjoyed by taking golf trips out of town and the past few years in Mexico and Hawaii. Wayne is survived by his loving family, wife Susan Avery; daughters Jodi Crooks Tone, Stafford, VA, and Jamie Avery, Kennewick, WA; grandchildren Katelyn, Shannon, and Irene Crooks, and Paige Lusk and Paris Avery-Smith; sisters Donna Avery, Eugene, OR, and Judy Mason and Audrey Wayne Mortensen of Hamilton, MT, and his two "boys" Max and Barney Avery Doxies, which he loved so much and enjoyed spoiling. He's also survived by his lifetime friend of 69 years, Dr. Robert Griffin of Missoula, MT. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepson Ryan L. Tobin. There will be a celebration of life held on Sunday, April 20th, 2008, at the Tri-City Country Club, 314 N.
