Warren P. Wolfe, 86 of Kennewick, died Friday, December 12th, 2008 at Kennewick General Hospital. He was born June 10, 1922 in Spokane, Washington to Prentice C. and Lelitia E. Wolfe. He was raised in St. Maries, Idaho where he attended school until he joined the Navy in 1940. He was aboard the USS Saratoga when World War II was declared. He spent the next four years in active duty, until September 22, 1944 when he became ill and was sent to the USN Hospital in Corona, California where he spent some time and then to the Veterans Hospital in Walla Walla, Washington. After recovering he returned to his home in St. Maries, Idaho. In 1948 in Thompson Falls, Montana he married Wanda Rae Poland of Rose Lake, Idaho. In 1953, they moved to the Tri-Cities and have lived there ever since. He was a member of the Local 370 Operating Engineers and was employed by Kaiser Company at Hanford where he worked for years. Later he joined the Local 598 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters and worked at Hanford until he retired in 1983. He became a member of The Independent Order of Forester for 47 years. Warren was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Kennewick. Warren loved St. Maries, Idaho where he returned every summer for the Wolfe Family reunion. The St. Joe River was where he loved to fish and reminisce over his childhood memories. He also enjoyed sharing stories and visiting with family and friends during the reunion. Warren is survived by his wife Wanda of 60 years, one brother Rodney Wolfe of St. Maries, Idaho; one sister Rayma Hathaway of Spokane, Washington; son John Wolfe; daughter-in-law Barbara Wolfe; daughter Debbie Lockard; son-in-law Chris Lockard all of Kennewick. Other survivors include 5 grandchildren Hannah Lockard, Brittney Wolfe, Travis Wolfe, Christopher Wolfe and Brian Wolfe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives who meant a great deal to him. He was preceded in death by his grandson Ben Lockard, both parents and two sisters. Viewing will be Friday, December 19th, 2pm to 5pm, and Saturday, December 20th, 11am to 12:30pm, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home located at 1401 South Union Street in Kennewick. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 20, 2008, 1pm, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home with interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the Kennewick home of Debbie and Chris Lockard following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
