Walter Burrus was born to Orville and Rosa Burrus on December 27th, 1934, in Blue Jacket, OK. He met his wife, Marie C Bales, in Pasco WA and they married April 7th, 1962, in Franklin County, WA. They had been married for 62 years. Walt was a farmer in the Basin City area since 1963 and retired in 1999. He enjoyed a plethora of horse-riding activities including trail riding, cutting, working cattle, and travelling for horse shows.

When he wasn't on his horse, he loved hunting for elk, deer and moose or fishing trips with both of his sons. Walt is survived by his loving wife, Marie, their 2 sons Stephen Burrus (Amy) and Robert Burrus (Joan), Walt's 2 brothers and 1 sister. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren who spent many days out on the farm learning from him and enjoying time with him on the horses.

Walt is preceded in death by his parents Orville and Rosa Burrus, infant daughter, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Walt will be greatly missed by many. A celebration of life will be hosted privately with family and friends at a later date.
