Verna Marie Powers Dahmen passed away peacefully in her sleep to join her Heavenly Father on March 21, 2011. Verna was born September 9, 1920 in Colton, Washington to John and Agnes Dahmen. Verna spent her childhood in Uniontown, Washington, along with her 12 siblings, where the family had a dairy farm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. Powers in 2001, daughter, Cheryl K. Addington, son, Ronald J. Powers, two brothers, Jack and Dan, sisters, Margaret and Lucille. She is survived by her children Barbara Damon-Freiberg, John A. Powers, Michael J. Powers Kennewick, WA, Jim Powers Moses Lake, WA, Joe Powers Desert Aire, WA, Margo Faris Pendleton, OR; sisters Dorothy Busch, Lillian Bauer, Mildred Thill, Florence Grimm, Carolyn Entel; brothers Claude, Cletus, Roland Dahmen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Verna was a homemaker and loved to bake for her children. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Memorial mass will be held at Parish of the Holy Spirit on Saturday, March 26th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Kennewick.
