Vern Baldwin has gone home to see his Gracie. They were together for 70 years and now they will be together forever. Vern was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He lived in Filer, Idaho when he met Gracie. He worked for the railroad and loved it, but at that time there was more opportunity financially to get into the plastering trade. This was in the early 1950's. He was an amazing hod carrier. He mastered his profession and very few could work as hard. Vern leaves behind two sons, Dale and Dean; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. A third son, Don, preceded Vern in death. Vern had his own golden rule that he lived by; "If you can't say anything nice to someone, don't say anything at all". He lived that way and did not waver. He will be missed by all who knew him, but now it is time to go home to his lovely wife and life eternal. "Thank you, Dad and Grandpa, for being an inspirational part of our lives." Graveside services will be held Friday, June 8, 2012, 12:00 p.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick.
