Velma Fae Sales, of Kennewick, WA went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, January 24, 2014. Born in Rocky Ford, CO, on October 27, 1924, she was second of eight children of the late Reverend Dr. James and Grace Bennett. Velma graduated from Vancouver High School in 1942 and received bachelor and master degrees in music education from Linfield College. She was a public school music teacher and later taught kindergarten. On July 17, 1954 she married Hubert Sales in Hermiston, OR. Velma was an active member of South Hills Church for over 40 years. Her grandchildren are Mark Garber, Julie Garber, Rachael Sales, and Troy Sales. She also leaves behind 4 surviving siblings. A viewing will be at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 10th and Union, Kennewick, from 5-8p.m. on Friday January 31. The memorial service will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday February 1, at South Hills Church, 3700 W. 27th, Kennewick.
