Obituary

A little infant boy born February 11,1952 in North Little Rock Arkansas to Charles W. Dedmond and Rose Marie Johnson Dedmond. They would name him Van, the fourth son of eight children. He was a little boy when they came to Pasco from Little Rock. He attended school at Whittier Elementary School, McLoughlin Junior High, and went to Pasco High and graduated class of 1970.

He attended WSU Pullman studied Social Studies/History graduating in 1974. After graduating Van finished his teaching internship at Rogers High School in Spokane, WA. He was offered a few teaching jobs in Spokane and Pasco WA. But it didn't pay enough to live on at that time. So, he went to work in the Industrial field, Youth Involvement Supervisor, Mental Health Office Manager/Supervisor, as a Shipping and Production Forman, Quality Assurance Supervisor, Carpenter, and a Quality Inspector for the Teamster Union in Seattle, WA. He worked for CertainTeed Gypsum for 27 year before retiring. He was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

On December 17, 2010, Van married Stephanie Green, at their home in Auburn, WA. Van was proud of the title he gave to his wife, which was a "Stay At Home Wife". They spent 14 beautiful years together. He called himself the Universal Scientist, he was going to build an Anti-Gravity Machine. Van was an avid reader and love to study with his Great Courses, he enjoyed cooking, going fishing, to the movies, eating out and trying new BBQ restaurants, and to the Casino for all you can eat crab legs. He supported the grandkids by attending their sporting events and cheering them on in the stands. Van was very caring, understanding and supportive person to all that knew him.

One of Van favor scriptures was What does God say : Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no Vision (MindVision), the PEOPLE PERISH!!!!! On November 23 the Lord called him home in his sleep saying his job here on earth was complete and he had a new Mansion ( John 14:2-6) for him. He said, "Come unto Me all you that are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28). Without hesitations he went with him.

He is proceeded in death by his daughter LaToya Dedmond, father Charles Dedmond, mother Rose Marie Allen, father BJ Allen, brothers, Charles Dedmond and Victor Dedmond, grandmother Rose Marie Veasey, Grandfather Louis Johnson.

Van Wayland Dedmond leaves a lifetime of memories wife of fourteen years Stephanie L. Dedmond, daughters Laree Demond Lowman, Eboni Twitty, son Tyler Twitty, Mother-in-law, Melva Mitchell, Brother in laws- John L Mitchell, Jr,(Deborah), Lelawyn Mitchell, Sr., Sister-in-laws- Dorothy Lino(CC), Sheri Mitchell. Sisters- Valerie Snoddy-Martin (Eugene), Knoxville, TN; Benjie Allen-Griffin, (Andre), Pasco, WA; Dorothy Dunbar, Pasco, WA; Brothers- Tony Dedmond (Rhonda), Rockville, MD; Kim Allen, Pasco, WA; Aunt- Norma Eason, Greenville, NC; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchild, 10 Nephews, 7 Nieces, a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, Special Cousin/Brother Ricky Robinson.
