Tommy Jerry Cole, 79, of Kennewick, Washington walked through heaven's gates on December 20th, 2021. He was born in Kent, Oklahoma to Gordon and Marie Cole on June 25th, 1942. They moved to the Tri-Cities when Tommy was young and he graduated from Kennewick High School in 1960. He briefly worked as a mechanic but ultimately followed in his father's footsteps and became a carpenter. He married the love of his life, Sharon Roberts, on February 15th, 1986. They enjoyed 35 years of marriage.
Tommy loved to fix up old cars and houses and often helped his family and friends with theirs. Even when he retired he was always working on a project. Most days you could find him tinkering around his shop - a cup of coffee in one hand and tools in the other. His determination and "go get 'em" attitude were admirable qualities that he passed down to his children. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Marie Cole; his brother, Kenneth Cole; and sister, Billie Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Cole; his children, Cindy (Dave) Gruver, Melinda (Curtis) French, Lynna French, Terry (Dori) Preston; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Debbie (Tim) Kottke and Linda (Dick) Cary. Tommy will be greatly missed but we know we will see him again one day.
Celebration of life will be held on January 22nd at 3:30 pm at Adult Day Services of the Tri-Cities 10 N. Washington St. #5 Kennewick, Washington 99336.
