Timm Lerolle Bettendorf passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. Timm was a dedicated father, husband, business owner and volunteer. Timm was born in Portland, Oregon to Roe and Dawn Bettendorf on February 28, 1952. He was raised in the Tri-Cities from an early age. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1972 and went into the Navy in 1973, stationed in Long Beach California. After the Navy in 1976, he married Judy Putnam and had three beautiful children, Joseph, Casey and Amy.

Timm attended CBC's Nuclear Technology Program for 2 years and received his Associate in Applied Science and Nuclear Technology Degree. His first job in the nuclear field was at UNC in Richland. Throughout the years he eventually worked and retired from PNNL/Battelle as the Emergency Preparedness Manager. During his years of working in the nuclear field he traveled to many cities in many states doing training which he loved, as he was such a people person and never met a stranger. Timm was also involved with the Tri-Cities Youth Hockey Association when it first came to the Tri-Cities and with his wife Judy sponsored a Youth Hockey Team – the Bettendorf's Bruins which Timm had such a ball traveling with his son Casey to all the hockey tournaments and games that he could, Go Bruins. This lasted for several years.

Timm was admired by many for his caring and loving soul. He was known as a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years and was always eager to volunteer for their many social and community events. Timm was also involved with the local Olympia Beatnik Car Club, even though he didn't have a classic car to show off, he just loved the friendship of so many people.

Timm is survived by his wife, Judy of 48 years, sons Joseph (Crystal), Casey (Katie) and daughter Amy. Grandchildren, Morgan, Madalyne, Makayla and Attison, his sister Terri (Tony) brother Cole (Dolly) as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Tracy Bettendorf (Sharon).

The family would like to give special thanks to the people at Haven Home Health and Hospice at the Chaplaincy, all of whom went above and beyond in caring for Timm and assisting the family through the hard times. They are appreciated more than words can say.

Services will be held at St. Joseph Parish, 520 South Garfield Street, Kennewick, Washington, on September 13, 2024, a Rosary will be held at 10:30am followed by a Mass at 11:30am, Internment proceeding Mass at St. Joseph Parish.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Dillon Hall.

Flowers are welcome, but contributions can be made to Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick.
