Thomas Joseph Froelich

April 4, 1947 – January 4, 2026

Thomas Joseph Froelich, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 4, 2026. After a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, Tom passed away suddenly due to complications from cancer. Throughout his health struggles, he maintained the quiet strength and dignity that defined his 78 years of life.

A proud veteran, Tom served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His commitment to service continued throughout his professional life as a Certified Health Physicist, specializing in nuclear safety at the Hanford site. His colleagues knew him as a man of great integrity and technical expertise, dedicated to the safety and well-being of his coworkers and the surrounding region.

In November 1973, Tom married the love of his life, Marty Froelich. Together, they shared over 52 years of marriage - a partnership built on love, mutual respect, and a shared dedication to raising their five children.

Tom was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Veronica and Carl Froelich, and his siblings, Joan, James, Barbara, and David.

He is survived by his wife, Marty Froelich; his two sisters, Eileen Trujillo and Mary Anne King; his cousin Joe Gualtieri; and his five children: Veronica Wise (husband Brent), Peter Froelich, Gina Manzano (husband James), Michael Froelich, and Jason Froelich (wife Kristen).

He was the proud and loving "Papa Tom" to seven grandchildren: Jackson, Dylan, and Grace Wise; Clara and Iggy Froelich; Vivien Manzano; and Maren Froelich. He also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces and nephews who will miss his presence dearly.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11 AM at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 S. Union St., Kennewick. A celebration of life will follow at approximately 12:00 PM at The Village at Southridge, 6750 West 36th Place, Kennewick.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his honor to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
