Theodore R. Eggan, 89, went to Heaven on Friday, March 7, 2014. He was born January 4, 1925, in Seattle, Washington to Edward and Myrtle Eggan, the eighth of nine children. Ted was drafted into the Navy during World War II and served on the USS Cabot CVL-28. He was in nine campaigns in the South Pacific Theater. Ted attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada where he met his wife June Cheraz. They were married in 1953. Ted and June had six children and settled near El Dorado, California in 1964. He was employed at Aerojet General Corporation until retirement. Leaving retirement he worked at Wal-Mart for over 10 years. Ted started a lifelong hobby of woodcarving around age 12. Ted attended church throughout his life. He read his Bible faithfully and daily prayed for his children, grand and great-grandchildren by name. After moving to Tri-Cities five years ago, he attended Riverview Baptist Church. Ted had an operatic baritone voice and loved singing and listening to Christian music. KOLU, Christian Family Radio became very dear to him in his last years. June preceded him in death by several years. He is survived by two sisters, Virginia Stewart of Los Angeles, California and Marcia Rosellini of Seattle, Washington; his six children Kathy Glasebrook (Dave) of Moscow, Idaho; Phyllis Eggan of Placerville, California; Ted of Kennewick, Washington; Ruth Gibbs (Martin) of Pasco, Washington; Dante (Nancy) of Park City, Utah; and Linda DeWitt (Roger) of West Richland, Washington; 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Ted's family would like to express their gratitude to those of Legacy Cottage who tenderly cared for him this last year. There will be a graveside service at the Roseville Public Cemetery, Roseville, California. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 22, at Riverview Baptist Church, 4921 West Wernett Street, Pasco, Washington, starting at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to KOLU Radio.
