Terry Clinton Crabb, the beloved husband, master pianist, uncle, bridge player and wood craftsman died at Lourdes Medical Center on Good Friday, March 25, 2016, shortly after a devastating stroke. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his niece Marilyn Hansen and his nephew Stanley Hales. Terry was born as a leap year baby on Feb 29, 1920 and raised in Orofino, Idaho along the Clearwater River. By age 5 he started playing piano, which he enjoyed for the next 90 years. As a young boy he enjoyed fishing and reading books along the river. Terry earned a BA at the University of Idaho in Moscow and later was awarded a master's degree in music by Northwestern University in Chicago. After his two years master's program, his music professor invited Terry to come with him and perform in the great music halls of Europe. He never went, but always felt a certain pride in the invitation. He next moved to Coulee City, WA, where he taught music and played piano at the local pub. In the early 1950's Terry came to Pasco, where he taught music for students from grade school to high school. He met and married Patricia Laskowski in 1953. They were the epitome of soulmates living in Pasco for file next 63 years. In the early 1960's Terry joined the faculty of Columbia Basin College and later became head of the music department for many years. While at CBC, he developed the music lab, with 10 pianos connected to the teacher all at the same time. All ten students could play silently and simultaneously. With electronics and earphones, Terry could listen and teach each student individually. Over the years he and Pat loved to travel the world. Their first big trip took them to the Brussels World's Fair in 1956. Later their travels included Japan, China, including Tibet, the Great Wall and the Yangtze River; Eastern and Western Europe from St. Petersburg to Northern Norway to Barcelona; South America, including Argentina and Brazil; Canada; Egypt and Australia. Terry enjoyed intricate wood working, building a few replicas of the frigates that sailed the seas from the 17th-19th century. His nephew Stanley remains proud of the ship Terry built and gave to him several years ago. He also built a clavichord in his own home in the 1970's. Terry was active in Masonic and Shriner activities. He often was invited to play piano at their various functions around the Northwest. He also served as the organist at First United Methodist Church in Pasco for many years. Terry was always a kind man. No one ever had a harsh word to say about him. His family and friends loved him and will miss him dearly.
