Wayne Vertz, my wonderful husband and father of our children went to be with our Lord and Savior in Heaven and our baby Ailene Vertz on May 20th. He was surrounded by his friends Kevin, Duane and Larry on that day and I am grateful they were there with him and for him.

Wayne was born in Belton Missouri on December 14th 1964 to Carol and Tary Vertz. When Wayne was two, they moved to Kennewick, his parents Tary and Carol owned and ran Vertz Discount Furniture and the Chieftain Motel.

Wayne grew up in Kennewick and Pasco went to several different schools and knew so many people. He ran track at Kamiakin High School and still has a record there. He went to Clackamas Community College in Oregon City for a year, riding his bike to go visit his Grandparents Woody and Rose Wollesen in Portland Oregon and playing long games of Pinochle and Dice. The rain got to him and he had to move back to the dry Tri-Cities.

Wayne and I (Nelle Denny) met and were together since September of 1984 and were married on August 1st 1987. Wayne was the General Manager of Bingo Boulevard in Kennewick owned by Columbia Center Rotary Club, he loved his job there and the employees (Darla Novak, Wayne told me, she is like his sister) bingo players, and rotary members.

Wayne was a volunteer Klickitat County Sherriff's Office Posse Deputy and enjoyed serving under Sheriff Bob Songer.

Wayne is survived by me, his wife Nelle Vertz, our children, daughter Jennifer (Vertz) McConnachie and her husband Tyler McConnachie, our grandchildren Luke and Lincoln McConnachie. Our daughter Carisa Vertz, our sons Andrew, James, and Randall Vertz. He is also survived by his loving mother Carol Vertz. His brother David Vertz (Hue Vertz) children Sean and Ryan Vertz. His brother Dan Vertz (Tracie Vertz) children Darian, Mia, Jaxon, and Stella Vertz. His brother Tim Vertz and daughter Payton Vertz.

We all miss you and love you Wayne and can't wait to be with you and our Lord and Savior some day in Heaven. When I picked up Wayne's Bible he had been reading in John and I encourage all of you who are reading this to open your Bibles and start in John and read, also read Psalm 56: 1-13 and trust in the Lord our God with all your Heart. Wayne's Graveside service will be Tuesday June 3rd at 11 AM at Desert Lawn Memorial Gardens Park 1401 S. Union St. Kennewick WA. A Celebration of Life will be held following the graveside service at South Hills Church 3700 W. 27th Ave in Kennewick WA.
