Susan "Susie" Jean
Seely
Mar 29, 1962 — Feb 26, 2026
Susie Jean (Eberle-Schmidt) Seely, passed away February 26th, 2026, in Kennewick, WA. She was born on March 29th, 1962, to Barbara and Fred Eberle, in San Diego, CA, at the Naval Hospital.
At the age of two, Susie, along with her brother Chuck and sister Patty, moved to Kennewick. Susie attended school in Finley from kindergarten through 12th grade. Susie would create friendships during these years, which would last her lifetime. She graduated from River View High School in May 1980. As she put it, I received my diploma but majored in socializing. Susie was a proud cheerleader and member of the drill team during her high school years. Whenever a familiar song would come on the radio, she would always say, we had a routine to this and start dancing away.
After high school, Susie moved to California for a brief time, then returned to Kennewick. She met and married Scott Schmidt. Soon after, Brandon was born in 1989. When Brandon was 3 years old, Susie and Brandon were traveling to San Jose to visit her dad's family. Darren was flying to Tempe Arizona to watch the Huskies play football. They had the same flight to Seattle, where Brandon proceeded to keep Darren entertained the entire trip. Darren helped Susie with her luggage, as her hands were full. Susie invited Darren for breakfast and the rest is history. Susie and Darren were married on November 5th, 1994, in Coeur d'Alene, ID. In January of 1996, they were blessed with the birth of Derek.
Susie worked for many physicians in the Tri-Cities area, from Ear, Nose and Throat to
Podiatry and everywhere in between. She started her own home health care business, assisting her patients in everyday activities and eventually in foot and nail care. Susie's clients were very dear to her, and she loved being able to spend time with each one of them.
Susie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters, Parker and Hayden. She would gather little bags of goodies for each holiday but would usually end up giving them to the girls, way before the holiday arrived. Susie looked forward to playing Bunco, Rummikub and Bingo. Mostly because of the snacks that people provided.
Susie loved to take family trips to Lake Conconully, Lake Coeur d'Alene, Oregon Coast and Leavenworth. Lots of wonderful memories were created and will never be forgotten.
Susie is survived by her husband of 31 years, Darren Seely. Son, Brandon Schmidt, his wife Bri and daughters Parker and Hayden. Son, Derek Seely. Brother Chuck Eberle and Sister Patty Cerna and her husband Jerry. Brothers Eric Eberle, daughters Hannah and Colette. David Eberle, wife Jill, Logan, Braden and Peytan. Brent Ebele, wife Michele and son Harrison. Sister Roberta Clayton her husband Don and their children Donald, Bri and Cody. Her father Fred Eberle. Mother Barbara (Burgett, Eberle, Haner) Cunningham and her husband Mitch Cunningham. She is preceded in death by loving step-mother Dee Eberle and grandparents.
