Stuart Dudley Murphy was born September 29th, 1937, and passed away on June 6th, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Stuart was born in Boise, ID to Ellis and Margaret Grove Murphy, and was raised with one brother, Norman. Ellis was a construction electrician who was always on the move; therefore, Stuart moved with his family frequently while he was growing up, living in places all over the PNW, South Carolina, Kentucky, and others. He attended 18 different schools in 12 years and played basketball and baseball in middle school and high school, eventually graduating from Kennewick High in 1956, and beginning his electrical apprenticeship. This was the beginning of a long and successful career in the electrical industry, during which he worked on all four of the Snake River dams.

Stuart married Wanda Combs in 1959, and together they had two sons, Patrick, born in 1960, and Shawn, born in 1970. Stuart worked as a construction electrician of all four Snake River dams. In 1978, Stuart began working for Hanford at the 300 Area for Battelle as a maintenance electrician and moved his family back to Kennewick. Stuart was a very involved and supportive father, encouraging his sons in their athletic and musical pursuits.

Stuart married Jeanne Isley on July 20th, 1991, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a longtime parish for both. Their 34-year marriage was marked by love, laughter, a strong and shared devotion to their faith, many vacations, especially to the Oregon Coast, a favorite spot of theirs, collecting artifacts from many different places to display and share, and maintaining a welcoming and beautiful home and yard to enjoy with their children and grandchildren, siblings, and many friends. "Papa Stu" and "Grandma Jeanne" always made time for the grandchildren that they shared between them, with special activities, field trips, and a fridge, snack cupboard, and toy room that was always well stocked.

Stuart was a dedicated member of Bethlehem Lutheran for many years, serving on the school board, as an usher, and volunteering his services as an electrician for the church and the school whenever the need arose. He was very strong and devout in his faith and was involved in Bible Study group for many years. Stuart loved camping, fishing, and hunting, and he enjoyed sharing these pursuits with many of his loved ones. He was a famously good amateur photographer, who took photos of many amazing landscapes to hang on the living room walls and captured many special moments in time with his family and friends. He loved to watch football games at both NFL and collegiate levels, particularly enjoying the Apple Cup, and wrapping up the NFL season with a Super Bowl watch party with his family. He loved barbeque, and he was a master of the art, especially with tri-tip roast and prime rib. He was always generous with his time and skill as an electrician, helping many of his friends and family with their electrical conundrums and house wiring projects, and providing good conversation and great humor to go along with it.

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Margaret and his brother, Norman. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his sons Patrick (Christy), and Shawn (Suzie), his stepchildren Andrea (Kirk), and Rick (Malisa), his grandchildren, Neil, Jack (Lucie), Daniel, Caitlin, Sarah, Elizabeth, Patrick, Nicholas, Thomas, Emma, Alyssa (Daniel), Nicole, Easton (Molly), Zane, Tegan, and Faith, and great grandchildren Nicole (Zane) and Bennett, as well as many members of his extended family, and many friends.
