Steven George Arends, 70, of Kennewick, WA, passed away at his home on June 19, 2026. Steve was born on May 7, 1956, at Kennewick General Hospital to Patricia Ann Staley and Charles Louis Arends. He was raised in Kennewick and graduated from Richland High School in 1974, after which he briefly served in the Army. He dedicated forty years of his working life to the labor industry. He took pride in his work as well as his support of the Laborers Local 348. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and commitment to his fellow union members. Steve is survived by his wife, Heidi Lie Arends; son Geoffrey Steven and daughter-in-law Hayley Dawn and their children Brittney, Zachary, and Nolan; son Michael William and daughter-in-law Katherine Hall and their son Wyatt; and sister Jane Knox and her children Jennifer and Benjamin. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Staley, father Charles Arends, stepfather Ken "Steamboat" Staley, sisters Virginia and Mary Lou, and brothers Michael and William.
