Obituary

Our beloved Stanley Dee Colson has passed on to the next stage of his life. We will miss him dearly until we are united again. He died in his home on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022. Stan was born on Aug. 18, 1951 in Kellogg, Idaho. He graduated from Kellogg High school and attended college at Idaho State, before leaving in 1970 to serve a mission for his church in the Melbourne Australia mission. While there, he met Donna Butler, also serving a mission. After they both returned home, Stan and Donna were married for time and eternity in the Oakland, California Temple on Nov. 3, 1973. They soon settled in Kennewick Washington in 1975 where they would raise their family. Their sons, James "JB" Colson and Jonathan Colson were welcomed into the family in the early 80's, and they have been the light of Stan's life.  Stan and Donna operated a number of businesses over the years, and he also worked at Hanford as a computer analyst until he retired in 2018.  Stan had a deep faith and unwavering testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved to serve, and he loved missionary work. In fact, he and Donna served a 15 month Senior-Couples Mission in Scotland in 2019 and 2020. They loved the Scottish people and made many long-lasting friends. Stan had a quick wit, and was known for his humor and quirkiness. Example: he had dozens of ties to wear for every occasion. On Fast Sundays, he always chose a "food" tie, such as the one that looked like an ice cream cone. His friends would often come to see which tie he was wearing. Stan loved laughing with Donna and spending time with children and grand kids. He had a great love for fast, colorful, splashy sports cars' and he loved to take photos and capture every precious moment. Stan had a warm personality and many loyal friends, all of whom he treasured. Stan is proceeded in death by his mother Mary Lou Colson, and his father, James Boyd Colson. He is survived by his loving wife Donna, son James "JB" Colson, (wife Shannon, son Jacob James), son Jonathan Colson (wife Lauren, children Brielle, Aiden Nathaniel, and Kacen Lucas). We will miss Stan until we meet again.
