Obituary

Shirley passed away peacefully in her home Monday morning, April 21st, with her family by her side. Shirley was born on October 15th 1946 in Richland, WA to Selby & Myrtle Gordon. She was a friend of Bill W.'s for over 51 years.

Shirley had a full life, and in her younger years she enjoyed camping and water skiing. She was a self-taught hairdresser, and loved doing her friends hair (though her children have expressed that they weren't nearly as enthused or appreciative as her friends were). She enjoyed time with friends, gambling, and even playing Bingo for candy! One of her greatest passions was music and dancing. As soon as music played, she'd start snapping her fingers and asking anyone who was willing, to join in on her dancing.

One of her greatest joys was watching her grandkids and great-grandkids participate in sports. About 3 months before passing, she was even able to see her grandson play in a high school regional playoff basketball game.

Shirley loved to talk and be the center of attention, so working in restaurants was perfect for her when she was younger. She later spent years working at Lourdes Behavioral Health.

Shirley is survived by her three children LaDonna (Brett) Smith of Peyton, CO, Lance (Sue) Horntvedt of Spokane, WA, Melissa (Lester) Mehrer of Pasco, WA, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, all of whom she truly loved

She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.
