SHERRY ANN HANSON THIELEN

Sherry Ann Hanson Thielen of Kennewick, Washington, passed away peacefully December 24, 2025, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all that knew her. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity.

Born on February 27, 1947, in Spokane, Washington to Vera and Arnold Hanson, Sherry graduated from Kennewick High School in 1965. She pursued further learning through numerous college courses, honing skills that defined her professional life.

Sherry excelled in responsible roles, renowned for her organizational prowess and administrative expertise; always ready to help colleagues in need. Coworkers marveled at her ability to manage heavy workloads with remarkable speed and typing accuracy. She retired as a Legal Executive Assistant for lawyers supporting the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington.

Sherry delighted in piano, masterfully playing 1960s hits by icons like Ricky Nelson, Paul Anka, Lesley Gore, and Brenda Lee; sparking joyful gatherings around the keys. She also cherished karaoke sessions and listening to her family sing.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Robert Thielen, her three sons; Marc Persinger (Barbara), Michael Persinger, and Terry Hook; her six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother Greg (Nancy) Hanson; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Special thanks to Marc and Barbara for their dedicated in-home care these past years.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 9th, 2026 at 11:00am at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th Avenue and Union Street, Kennewick, Washington. A potluck to follow at Marc and Barb Persinger's house, 2004 Tinkle St. Richland WA, 99354.
