Sheryl Lynn Grant Henderson of Kennewick, passed away on August 30, 2012 in Richland, Washington. She was born Sheryl Lynn Grant on September 23, 1948 in Yakima, Washington, Sheryl was the second of three girls born to Louise Butler and Aaron Grant. Her siblings are Diane and Laurie. Sheryl spent her childhood in Yakima, graduating from Eisenhower High School in 1967. Sheryl married and had Marcy in 1969 and later Wendy in 1975. Sheryl relocated to Kennewick in the 1970s. Sheryl worked for many years at KinderCare, where she loved working with children of all ages. She was still in contact with many of the children she taught. Later in life, Sheryl worked at Kennewick General Hospital where she forged many bonds and friendships. In 1990, Sheryl met the love of her life, Howard Henderson. They were married in 2004. Sheryl was a loving, compassionate, and thoughtful mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved spending time with family and friends. She loved the outdoors and the many family outings in the RV. Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Louise. Sheryl is survived by her step-father, Gene Smith; sisters, Diane Feider Bob and Laurie Miller Dennis; her husband, Howard Henderson; daughters, Marcy Garcia Miguel and Wendy Mercure Tyson; her step-sons, Travis Conners and Tyler Henderson; her grandchildren, Michaela, Michael and Matthew Garcia, Dax and Hayes Mercure; her life-long friend Annie Jones, as well as her many other friends; and, lastly, her cherished companion, Rita, the Chihuahua. Sheryl will be remembered by the many lives that she touched over her 63 years of life. Sheryl will be placed at final rest in West Hills Memorial Park, Yakima, WA. A celebration of her life will be held on September 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Divine Fellowship Church, 513 Barth Ave., Richland, Washington.
