Sherriann (Sheri) Daleine Thacker, 77, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in Pasco, Washington, surrounded by her family. Sheri was born to Dale and Juanita Young on July 6, 1947, in Boise, Idaho. Sheri spent her childhood in Baker, Enterprise, and Halfway, Oregon before the family moved to Kennewick, Washington in 1965. She gained a younger brother, Clarence in 1948, and sister, Montie in 1952.

Sheri attended Kennewick High School, where she met John Garvin. John and Sheri eloped on October 26, 1966, in Pocatello, Idaho. They had three daughters, Korina (Tim) Clements, Patia (Jason) Alexander, and Megan (Alan) Openshaw that they taught to fish, hunt, and camp.

While raising the girls and creating a home Sheri worked the night shift as a server at Sambo's so she could be home with her girls. She also worked with John while he built his business, Garvin's Concrete. Sheri decided to get her GED and then attended Trend Business College, where she graduated with honors. This led her to a job at Hanford Collectors in the Legal Department.

In 1995, Sheri divorced John and began the life of a single woman. She eventually moved to Newport Beach, Oregon. Sheri loved being close to the ocean. While there she worked in the hospital emergency room. She returned to Kennewick where she would meet the love of her life, Duane Thacker.

Sheri and Duane met while he played music with his band at the Eagles. She would move to Weston, Oregon and they married on January 6, 2006, and he was, is, and will always be the love of her life. Her favorite memories were of their camping trips to William's Lake and Wallowa Lake, golfing, breakfast with friends, and the family gatherings at Labor Day on the property in Milton-Freewater, their final home together.

She was so proud to be called Grandma by Tyler (Danica Kreiner) Sprague, Jessica (Jordan) Knappek, Kadie (Megan) Clements, Brianna Sprague, Danielle (Travis) Smith, Calie (Zach Gee) Clements, Zach (Kelly Holebrook) Sprague, Cassie Openshaw, Ethan (Yzabelle) Openshaw, and Diamond Dusbabek. She loved being called Gigi by Andrew Sprague, Chase Knappek, Briella Knappek, Kennedy Clements, Madelynn Holebrook, Evan Openshaw, and the "little peanut" (Maverick) Gee due in May.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dale Young, her mother, Juanita Young, her brother, Clarence Young, and her husband, Duane Thacker.
