Sherri Lynn Scheer (Christensen) was born December 21, 1951, in Pasco, Washington, to Bill Christensen and Betty Braun. While attending Kennewick High School and on a school ski trip to Tollgate, she met the love of her life, John Scheer. They dated through high school and married after graduation in 1970. John joined the Air Force, and their world-wide adventure began.

They were first stationed at Edwards AFB in Southern California, where they would have their first son, Jason. Sherri and John became parents a second time, with son James while John was stationed in Greenland. The family spent the next 20 years in many fun and exotic places – from New York to Mississippi to the Azores, Portugal, with places in between.

Sherri had an impressive career with the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy as a staffing specialist, all while being the best mom ever. Sherri and John moved back to the Tri Cities to put down roots after John retired from the military. She worked at the Federal Building in Richland and was a mentor to many. After Sherri's retirement from DOE she delved into her ultimate passion, her grandkids. Sherri became essential in their upbringing; Madeline, Meredith, and Michael have each shared the impact of her guidance and care in their lives.

Sherri and John were a devoted couple and were married for more than 54 years.

She is survived by her husband John, her brothers Bill Christensen and Darren Christensen, her sons Jason and James, her daughter-in-law Debbie, and her grandchildren Madeline, Meredith and Michael.

Wife, Mom, Grandma, Best friend - Sherri, we will forever miss you and we will all try our best to live up to your example.

Please join us in celebration of our wonderful Sherri on Friday, February 28 at 10:00 am at Mueller's on Union Street. There will be a graveside service and reception following.
