Obituary

Sharon Diane Wright, 83, of Kennewick, Washington, died peacefully on January 18, 2025, from complications stemming from her battle with dementia. A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, "Sherry" will always be remembered for the love she had for Jesus, her family and her kindness toward others.

Sherry was born on February 23, 1941, in Fresno, California, to Arnold and Edith Baschen. Sherry, along with her older sister Linda, had an ideal childhood. After she graduated from Acalanes High School in 1958, she trained to be a dental assistant and worked in that field for a couple of years. She moved to Kennewick, Washington to be closer to her sister and there she met Thomas Wright, who she married in November of 1961. Tom and Sherry went on to have 4 children, Erin Holmquist (Wright), Jon Wright, Jody DeGroat (Wright) and Steven Wright, and 12 grandchildren.

In 2004 Sherry retired from working to focus on volunteering at her church, reading, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sherry was predeceased by her father, Arnold Baschen, her mother, Edith Baschen and her husband, Tom Wright. She is survived by her sister, Linda Henckel, her 4 children and their spouses, 12 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
