Sharon Marie Cushman

Died 5/3/2026 in Kennewick, WA

Sharon was born in Olympia, WA and spent many summers out at the Ranch on Gull Harbor with her grandmother, uncles, aunts and many cousins. She spent her school years in Chula Vista CA graduating high school in 1956. After high school graduation she returned to Olympia, WA where she attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and started her long nursing career.

While in Olympia, she met and married Lewis Hackney. They moved to his hometown in Kennewick, WA in 1960 where they raised their family. After their divorce she returned to college and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for many years in several different hospitals and clinics and retired from nursing at 71.

She loved to return to the Olympia Gull Harbor area and visit her many Cushman and Howe relatives; she would always return with blackberries and many stories!

She attended the Parish of the Holy Spirit Catholic church and for many years decorated the church with fresh flowers and sang in the choir.

She adored her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren who affectionately named her "Bam" she loved to hear of their adventures!

She is survived by daughter Denise Konzek (David), son Pat Hackney, daughter Sandra "Sam" Dressler (Dennis).

Grandchildren Windy Negrete (Sergio), David Konzek (Patti), Ann Bradley (Brad), Luke Konzek, Vicki Hackney (Danny).

Great Grandchildren James Konzek, Anthony Negrete, Sergio Negrete Jr, Jason Dietz, Odin Bradley, Ezra Bradley, Myles Bradley, Katie Konzek, Emily Konzek, and Andy Konzek.

The family would like to thank Cherry Creek Adult Family Home Caregiving staff and Tri Cities Chaplaincy staff for all their care and concerns while helping us to care for Sharon, Mom and Bam these past few months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Parish of the Holy Spirit 7409 W. Clearwater Ave. Kennewick WA on May 14, 2026 Holy Rosary at 10:30AM, Mass at 11:00 AM, Luncheon to follow. Burial at Desert Lawn Cemetery at 2:00pm
