In Loving Memory of Shannon Jones September 14, 1960 - September 9, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shannon Jones on September 9, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on September 14, 1960, the first of identical twins, the fifth of six children, to Woodrow and Wanda Parker. Shannon was a devoted wife to Leon Jones, a loving mother to her sons Leon, Parker, and Travis, daughters-in-law Ashley, Jennifer and Acacia, and a cherished grandmother to nine adoring grandchildren.

Shannon's life was a testament to love, and compassion for her fellowman. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and shared her boundless love through her work for 25 years as an American Red Cross Instructor. Through her engagement in the community, and with her family and friends, her loving service has a profound lasting impact on countless lives, and her legacy of compassion will forever be remembered.

Shannon had a passion for the simple joys of life. She loved experiencing life and sharing with others. A traveler, talented crafter, gardener, and chef, Shannon took immense pleasure in sampling and creating all cultures and food. Shannon shared her talent's generously, a reflection of her giving spirit.

Throughout her life, Shannon's warm personality and open heart allowed her to form deep friendships around the globe. She found her home in Kennewick, Washington, where she resided for 31 years, building strong connections with the community and becoming a beloved figure in the lives of those around her.

As we bid farewell to Shannon, let us remember the remarkable woman who touched our lives with her kindness, generosity, and love. The lessons of openness to adventures and other's experiences remain with us. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Shannon is survived by her husband Leon, their 3 children Leon (Ashley), Parker (Jenny) and Travis (Acacia), 9 grandchildren Adeline, Henry, Oakley, Elinor, Liesl, Willa, Jane, Amelia, and Harper, 4 of her 5 siblings Darwin, Lorraine, Karla, and Sherry (Twin). Preceded in death by her sister Margo McLea.

A viewing will be held at Mueller's Funeral Home, 1401 South Union, Kennewick WA September 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

A memorial service to celebrate Shannon's life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 515 South Union, Kennewick, WA at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 16, 2023. If you are unable to attend in person, please watch via Zoom https://zoom.us/j/94008423253.
