Obituary

Sean Schuyler Ferguson, beloved son, wonderful brother and special friend, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 3, 2008. Born in 1985 to proud parents Kevin and Cathy Ferguson in Kennewick, Washington, Sean attended Kennewick public schools and graduated from Southridge High School in 2004. In the Fall of 2004 Sean began a wonderful journey to Washington State University in Pullman, where he majored in mechanical engineering. He was set for graduation in 2009. Sean lived life to its fullest with a smile on his face and an eagerness to take on each challenge that came his way. It was so precious to see that big smile on his face and the gleam in his eyes, whether it was taking his first steps, dropping him off that first time for college, or visiting him during his time in a study abroad in Italy. He was always there to lift people up in difficult times and provide that extra spark to keep them going. Sean wanted life to be fun, and he wanted others to experience it that way, too. Sean had many joys, including hanging out with friends, soccer, snowboarding, riding his motorcycle and a passion for learning and mastering all things new. He especially enjoyed his summer internships and recent work experience with his many friends at Garlick Enterprises where he felt he was helping to make a difference in the world. Sean was a proud and loyal member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity at WSU, where he had served as treasurer and vice president. He had a special bond with his fraternity brothers and they were a great support for him. In July of this year, Sean suffered a very tragic motorcycle accident. During the recovery from his injuries, he continued to lift others up with his positive attitude and big smile. He was so thankful for the many people who lifted him up in their thoughts and prayers. As his recovery process seemed that it would never end, the challenges became too great for Sean to overcome. Sean is survived by his loving parents, his brother Steven, and special friend Amanda Garner; grandparents Bill and Jean Schwarz of Keizer, OR; uncles and aunts John and Linda Ferguson of Quincy, WA, Rick and Gayla Schwarz of Evergreen, CO, Rick and Lucinda Jorgensen of Keizer, OR, Merrilee Ferguson of West Linn, OR, and Bob and Sheryl Schwarz of Walnut Creek, CA; cousins Lori, Brian, Scott, Michelle, Allison, Tim, Kim and Joey. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Les and Mildred Ferguson. We welcome you to join our family in a Celebration of Sean's Life, to be held on Saturday, December 13th, at 11:00 a.m., at Kennewick First Presbyterian Church, 2001 W. Kennewick Avenue, Kennewick, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Kennewick First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
