Obituary

Scott Lee Mauseth

June 17, 1969 – August 11, 2023

Scott Mauseth was born in Pasco Washington to Robert and Shirley (Haworth) Mauseth. He was raised in Block 1 on the family farm where he loved to ride motorcycles with his friends. He attended Pasco schools and graduated with the class of 1987.

Scott started his career as a circle tech with Valmont Industries in the irrigation division, working out of the Pasco store. Scott's expertise caught the attention of the corporate office. He was invited to move to Omaha, Nebraska to support the service department with his vast field experience.

Scott traveled domestically, troubleshooting, and providing support and training. Scott also worked with Research and Development helping to create new, cutting-edge technologies in both hardware and software. He was recruited to work in Project Development, traveling globally to consult, develop and support international irrigation projects. Scott brought irrigation to remote areas of the world, he worked in numerous countries and visited every continent except Antarctica.

He had amazing experiences in some of the most beautiful places in the world but would also say that he also saw some of the ugliest. Scott connected with people everywhere that he went, and, in many places, they shared local experiences with him. Scott had a skill with languages and would easily pick up common phrases to help him communicate in the countries that he frequently traveled to. In 2019 Scott relocated to Kahzakstan, as Director of Business Development with Valmont to work on opening a new plant to better support the projects in Central Asia projects he was helping to plan. Scott continued to support these projects remotely after he returned to Pasco in 2022.

Scott passed following over a year of health challenges and the family would like to thank the numerous medical care providers with Kadlec, Providence and Trios that cared for Scott throughout his illness in addition to the in-home caregivers with Senior Helpers and Tri-Cities Chaplaincy for their care of Scott in his final weeks.

Scott was greeted in heaven by his grandparents, Walter and Mable Mauseth and Ernest and Betty Haworth, father, Robert Mauseth, and sister, Robin Shelton. Scott is survived by his mother, Shirley Mauseth, brother Heath (Shaun) Mauseth, sister Amy (Chris) Ayre, brother-in-law Dale Shelton, son Daniel Mauseth (Kai), daughter Shannon Mauseth and her mom Katie Mauseth.

There will be a private service to honor Scott. In lieu of flowers we ask you to consider a donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN.org) in his memory.
