Sandra Lee Call (Lucus) passed away on January 6, 2026. She was born to Harry and Goldie Lucus on August 24, 1940, in Kennewick, Washington. Her family lived in what was referred to as the Richland "Wye" area, with her parents, a brother, Harry, and a sister, Betty. Sandra, or "Sandy," developed a love of horses, exploring, and what many would consider "tomboy" activities. She had many diverse interests, including gardening, drawing, and sewing. The family later moved closer to Kennewick, where Sandy graduated from Kennewick High School.

After graduating, Sandy got a job waiting tables, where she met Arthur "Jim" Rounds. They were married in 1960 and proceeded to buy and fix up a small house. Working together with her father, who was a carpenter, they bought houses, fixed them up, and sold them. They continued this work until upgrading to a small farm in Benton City. By then they had two children: a daughter, Kristie, born in 1969, and a son, David, born in 1972. They raised horses, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and Samoyed dogs.

Sandra and Arthur divorced in 1980, with her and the children moving to Kennewick shortly afterward. She went back to work, getting a job with the Washington Public Power Supply System, later known as Energy Northwest. While there, she went back to school and received an engineering certificate and earned a B.A. in Business Administration at the age of 57. She worked hard to support herself and her children, while also providing fun and memorable experiences such as camping trips, river rafting, and even taking in foreign exchange students. During this time, she met Russell Call, and they were married in 1992.

Sandy and Russ enjoyed life together in the home they made on Candy Mountain, just off Dallas Road in West Richland. There they made their own wine, calling it Dallas Vineyards, and worked with many amateur and professional winemakers throughout the area. Sandy went back to school again and earned her Master Gardener certification. They worked the vineyard for several years, finally deciding to step away in 2020, when their respective health issues made it difficult to maintain.

Sandra had a zest for life and was driven to get all she could out of it. She traveled extensively throughout her lifetime, including trips to Europe, Australia, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, and many destinations within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She had a lifelong love of gardening, growing fruits, vegetables, nuts, flowers, and, of course, grapes. Sandra also carried a love of sewing and crafts, often making her own clothing and accessories. For several years, she created items to sell at bazaars as well as by commission.

Sandra was also very socially active, enjoying time with the many friends and family she made over the years. Whether with family, winemakers, former coworkers, or dancing and playing games with friends at the senior center, Sandra made time for everyone. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Goldie; her brother, Harry; her sister, Betty; her daughter, Kristie; and her beloved husband, Russell Call. She is survived by her son, David; stepchildren Dale, Brenda, and Douglas; grandchildren Emery, Kaia, Madison, Thomas, and Erika; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, February 7, at Mueller's Funeral Home (1401 South Union Street, Kennewick, WA) from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. This will be followed by a reception with refreshments at the Highland Grange Hall across the street (1500 South Union Street) from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
