Obituary

Ruth J. Warmenhoven, April 14, 1920 to July 12, 2017, was born to Thomas and Elta (Sparks) Muir, in Sunnyside, Washington. She lived a full life of 97+ years, experiencing the horse and buggy era to the Model T, to the jet age, to the space age and into the current age of advancing technology. In her early years, she was the bookkeeper for her family business known as Muir Mfg. She was very patriotic and always very tender when remembering the loss of her brother, Don, in World War II. She was known for her servant's heart, always entertaining for her family, friends and those in need. She was very active in the early years of the Sunnyside Christian School and her church. She spent many years visiting the shut ins and knitting clothes and hats for orphans abroad. She was known to her family and grandchildren for her holiday and birthday celebrations. She married the love of her life, Cornelius P. Warmenhoven, on July 8, 1942. They raised three children and enjoyed traveling together in their retirement years. She is survived by two children, Don (Eke) Warmenhoven and Corinne Rockwell; daughter-in-law Barbara Warmenhoven; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Simon, three sisters, two brothers and many special friends. The family wants to express our sincere thanks to the team at Legacy House for their most excellent care and compassion given to our mother and grandma. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 22nd, 11:00 a.m., at Family of Faith Church, 835 N. Neel Street, Kennewick, Washington. Suggested memorials may be made to Heartlinks Hospice or Life Options.
