Rozena P. Vandine, 85, passed away on July 23, 2007 in Pasco. She was born on December 23, 1921 to Henry G. and Eva M. Wassemiller Bender in Wintersett, Kansas. Rozena moved to the Tri-Cities with her family in 1943 and in April 1946 she married Orbie E. Vandine. They made their home in the Tri-Cities for 41 years prior to his passing away in December 1987. Orbie and Rozena had three daughters. In 1982 Rozena retired from the Kennewick School District where she worked as a cook in the school cafeterias. The family enjoyed camping and fishing, especially in the mountains. She crocheted many afghans that remain with her family. She was the last survivor of 11 children born to Henry and Eva Bender. Rozena is survived by her three daughters and their families; Sylvia and Ken Cook, Barbara and granddaughter Amy Vandine and Delores and Jim Pinkal; granddaughter Julie; grandson Donald. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union in Kennewick. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 10:00a.m. at Mueller?s Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Kennewick with burial to take place at Resthaven Cemetery in Richland.
