Our beloved husband, father and grandfather peacefully passed away Sunday, May 31st, 2009, surrounded by his wife, Sharron, and their children. Roy was born June 16, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas to Waldo and Clara Snyder. He grew up and attended school in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1951, he enlisted in the Army where he served his country until 1956. Upon discharge, he worked as a traveling salesman, which brought him to the Northwest. During this time he met Sharron, his beloved wife of 46 years. In 1967, he moved his family to Kennewick where he made his home for the last 42 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Clara. He is survived by his wife, Sharron, and their two children Steven Colleen Snyder and Lynnette Jason Gunter; grandchildren Jarett, Blake, Jenna and Derek who were his true pride and joy; sisters Wilma Jean Whitney of Waikoloa, Hawaii and Juanita Swonson of Taylorsville, Utah. Roy will always be remembered for being his family's greatest advocate and supporter. We were blessed every day of our lives that we had with him. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 3rd, 10:00am, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 1401 South Union Street in Kennewick with a reception to follow at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home.
