Obituary

Rosemary Carroll Studer died peacefully at home on October 15, 2007. She was born December 17, 1921, in Minden City, Michigan, to Marguerite Norton and Russell Harrison Carroll. She was president of her senior class at Deckerville MI High School and graduated from St. Mary?s Hospital School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, MI. She married Richard R. Studer in 1946. Rosemary was a Kennewick resident for 44 years. She was employed as a registered nurse at Kennewick General Hospital and as director of nursing for area assisted-living facilities. She developed the curriculum for and taught the Medical Careers class at Kennewick High School. She also worked for the Benton County Juvenile Justice Center as nursing services coordinator. Preceding her in death are husband, Richard Studer; parents Russell and Marguerite Carroll; brother Robert Bernard Carroll and granddaughter Carrie Elisabeth Ames. Surviving are her children: Kathryn Robert Marsh, Maria Ames, Rebecca Walter Berling, Michael Michelle Studer and Kristine DeZarn; grandchildren: Heidi Ames, Hannah DenBleyker, Daniel Studer, Jeri Studer, Nicholas Berling, Anders Berling, Thomas Studer, Nicholas Studer, Katharine DeZarn and Jacob DeZarn; great-grandson Noah DenBleyker; great-granddaughter Ataya Studer; and brothers Russell James Carroll and John Norton Carroll. Rosemary was a longtime member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Parish in Kennewick. She was active in the Legion of Mary and other parish programs. In honor of our mother?s special devotion to the Virgin Mary, Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 17th, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, 520 S. Garfield Street. Our family is grateful to the staff of The Hospice at the Chaplaincy for their respectful assistance as we cared for our mother. The family suggests a memorial donation to St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or a charity of the donor?s choice. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum. Benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus, Nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen.
