Roscoe Charles "Mick" Slade Jr. (USN SCPO Retired), loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 77 surrounded by family members at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington on September 30, 2022.

Roscoe was born November 21, 1944 in Oakland, California, the son of the late Eva Blanche Slade and Roscoe Charles Slade Sr., and grew up in Garden Grove, California. With the aid of the GI Bill, he attended the University of Puget Sound, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Roscoe served a total of 22 years in the Armed Forces; 7 years active duty in the US Navy (Naval Submarine Base New London, Connecticut & Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington) and 15 years in United States Army Reserves, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He worked as an electrician at Lower Monumental Dam and Ice Harbor Dam on the Snake River for the Army Corps of Engineers.

While stationed in Connecticut, Roscoe met and married the love of his life Rita Cecile Randlett on December 5th, 1970, in Sanford, Maine. In the early 1980's, they moved from Olalla, Washington to Kennewick, Washington where they raised their two children, Roscoe C. Slade III and Angela Marie Julson until 2003 when they moved to Richland, Washington.

Roscoe loved his family very much, especially his four grandchildren, Tyler Slade, Caden Slade, Madison Slade and Chloe Julson. They brought so much joy to his life.

Roscoe is survived by his wonderful wife Rita, his son Roscoe C. Slade III and daughter-in-law Shawna, his daughter Angela Julson and son-in-law Paul, his sister Blanche Beck and brother-in-law Red Beck, his sister Alberta Denesen and brother-in-law Bob Denesen, his grandchildren Tyler Slade, Caden Slade, Madison Slade, Chloe Julson and cherished friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be on Friday October 7, 2022, at 2 pm, at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home 1401 S. Union St. in Kennewick, Washington.  There will be a burial immediately following the service in the Veteran's Section of the Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park. At 6 pm, a celebration of life reception to be held at his son's West Richland home, 5600 Glenbrook Loop.
