Ronald Harry Somers, 68, passed on September 18, 2021, in Pasco, WA. Ron was born December 9, 1951, in Coupeville, WA to Herold and Evelyn (Rasmussen) Somers who owned Somers Shell Service and Garage. The family moved to Kennewick, WA, where his sister and three brothers attended school. Ron graduated from Kennewick High School in 1970. Upon receiving his draft notice during the Vietnam war, Ron enlisted in the Army. He graduated with honors from signal school and served with the 8th Infantry in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1973. Ron then returned to Kennewick and attended Columbia Basin College completing courses in auto and diesel mechanics, auto body repair and carpentry. Ron is survived by his sister, Betty Cannedy, brothers, Dennis Somers (Debbie) and Bruce Somers (Cynthia). Ron did not have children of his own but will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, Hillary Somers, Claire Somers, Chad Cannedy (Josie), Denise Mildren (Dan), Tracey DeRoos (Greg), Josh Somers (Brandy), Nikki Scherzinger (Brent) and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, younger brother, Rodney, and nephew, Darron Cannedy. Ron will be remembered for his eclectic love of music, knowledge of auto mechanics, his quick wit and never being on time for family dinners! Ron was a loving son, brother and friend and will be dearly missed. Ron will be laid to rest, with full military honors, beside his mother on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 1:00 at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
