Ronald Milton Schultz, 82, passed away on May 10, 2023. He was born in Ballard, Washington on January 24,1941 to Milton F. Schultz and Sella Collan. He moved from Renton, WA to Pasco WA in 1944.
Ron grew up on a small farm in Pasco, attended Pasco schools, and graduated in 1960. He worked for Chevron Chemical in Finley for 28 years and retired in 1992.
He married Marie Benish in 1961 and were blessed with three children, Dean, Wade, and Veronica. They were married for 62 years.
In retirement, Ron enjoyed golfing, camping, volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul, and shaping wood, faithfully attending his grandkids sporting events, watching the Zag's, reading Louis L'amour, watching hummingbirds outside the window, and reruns of Gunsmoke. Most of all, he enjoyed family gatherings with his 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, most especially, our yearly family campouts at Farragut State Park.
In 1984 Ron followed Christ through baptism at St. Patrick's in Pasco. Ron and Marie were very involved with St. Patrick's church and parish community which included Prince of Peace prayer group and serving as a Eucharistic Minister.
He is survived by his loving wife Marie, sons Dean (Jamie) of Waldorf, MD; Wade (Nancy), Pasco, WA, and daughter, Veronica Dillon (Jack) of Spokane, WA; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Frank Benish (Jeanette), Ray Benish, (Janet), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Alfred, Randy, and Nancy Paul, and one grandchild, Trevor.
Ron was a man of few words but deep thoughts.
Viewing is Wednesday, May 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with Rosary at 6:00 at Muller's Funeral Home on Court St in Pasco. The Funeral will be at St Patrick's Parish at 10:00 AM May 18 with interment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park on Union Street in Kennewick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made in his name to Society of St Vincent de Paul; P O Box 4273; Pasco WA 99302-4273, or a charity of your choice.
