Ronald Silas Ferry, loved husband, father and friend, died early in the morning April 3, 2013, after many years of serious health problems. Ron was born in Murray, Nebraska on February 3, 1933 to Silas and Ardella Ferry. He moved to Wenatchee, Washington with his family when he was in grade school. He attended schools in Wenatchee, Monitor and Cashmere, Washington. He served in the Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954. He married Ruth Parkinson in 1955 and they celebrated 57 years together. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons Bruce Ferry and Ronald Jesse Ferry (Susan), both of Richland; daughter Michelle "Shelly" Gaona (Tony) of Vacaville, CA; two sisters, Donna Applebury of Wenatchee and Bonnie Anderson of Cashmere; grandchildren Nathan Bailey, Danielle Bailey, Justin Ferry, Jordan Ferry, Jesse M. Ferry, Samantha Ferry, Elizabeth Ferry, Hannah (Suzie) Ferry and Chaz Ferry; and four great-grandchildren, Noah Burres, Levi Bailey, Pierce Bailey and Jeannine Ferry. Ron came to Tri-Cities in 1965, to work for LW Vail Company which was a happy relationship, a job he loved. He retired in 1993 from Gregory Construction where he had been a partner, settling in to managing his cherry orchard in Prosser until he sold the land and moved to Richland. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, 1:00 p.m., at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. Private interment will take place at Prosser Cemetery in Prosser, Washington.
