Ronald "Ron" Braschler

Ron Braschler was born on January 1st, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, to James and Cora Braschler. He grew up during the hardships of the Great Depression, a time when his family spent periods living with his grandfather to make ends meet.

Life remained challenging throughout the 1930s and only began to improve after the end of World War II. Ron enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan when the Korean War began. He was deployed to Korea, landing in Pusan in December, 1950. Ron was one of 22 survivors from his 144‑man company, a testament to both the brutality of the war and his remarkable resilience.

After returning home, Ron began his career as a machinist at Dries and Krump. He married Gloria Kennedy and together they raised four children while living in the Chicago area. In 1976, the family moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Ron and Gloria separated. He met and married Faye Weber in 1980. They remained in Idaho until 1989, when they moved to Kennewick to be closer to family.

Ron and Faye shared a love of adventure and companionship. They particularly enjoyed square-dancing, white-water rafting, volunteering at church and spending time with friends and family.

Ron will be deeply missed by his partner Bunnie Hooker, his children Vicki, Jeri, Phil, Ron, Sharon, Steve and Tom; his grandchildren Bianca, Chris, Ellie, Jacklyn, Jennavee, Jimmy, Justin, Mike, Rachel, Stacey and Tara and his great‑grandchildren Ben, Brady, Charlotte, Christopher, Connor, Eli, Evie, Jonathan, Julie, Kacey, Noah and Wesley who carry forward his legacy of strength, perseverance and love. His courage, kindness and unwavering love for family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13th, at Mueller's Tri Cities Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th and Union Street, Kennewick.
