Reflections

Ronald J. Boom passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023. He was born August 20, 1946, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Donald and Magdalene Boom and was a big brother to Peggy, Cindy, and Judy. He attended school in Grand Forks, graduating from Saint James High School in 1964. His professional experience included work in the copper mines for the Anaconda Company in Butte, Montana, 1980 moved to the Tri-Cities where he worked for Sandvik Special Metals, DOE in Environmental Compliance. During retirement he drove the bus for both Pasco School District and Tri-Cities Prep.

Ron and his first wife Jonna married and raised their two daughters in Montana and the Tri-Cities. In 1994, Ron and Ginger Hawes were married and created a blended family including Jami, Kristi, Kari, Dave, Wade, and Becky. This blended family includes ten grandchildren and fond memories of time spent together at family reunions in Peshastin, Washington.

Ron was a very talented man who liked to share with others his knowledge of his various crafts and interests! He could be found polishing rocks, golfing, wood burning, riding his mower, and helping to take care of the yard. He was a man of faith and enjoyed leadership roles at CUP, C3, and the men's study group at Imago Dei Community Church. He also participated in Celebrate Recovery and Prison Fellowship where he supported others through his relationship with Christ.

A special thanks to our dear Dr. Chris Brussow, the Hospice care team, and Coralitas Group Home where he was shown such care and compassion in his final days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Cindy, and his daughter Jami.
