Obituary

Roger Bowlin, age 92, passed on to his eternal, heavenly home on December 12th, 2024. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1932 and after several moves, the family settled in Collinsville, Illinois, where Roger graduated high school. Roger's first job was with Ralston-Purina in St. Louis. In 1951 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served 4 years as an aircraft mechanic in Oklahoma, Illinois, and lastly Mather Field in Sacramento, California.

In 1954 he met and married Dana Gerber to begin 60 years of happy married life. After being discharged from the Air Force in 1955, he continued to work for the Air Force as a civilian employee for 11 years. It was during those years that Roger and Dana began to raise 3 children and completed studies to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Sacramento State College. Roger accepted a job with the Social Security Administration in San Francisco and retired in 1979, as a Senior Advisor to the San Francisco Regional Representative.

In 1980 he accepted a call from Fair Oaks Baptist Church in Concord, California, to serve as the Minister of Administration, a position he held until he and Dana heard the voices of grandchildren calling from Kennewick, Washington. Roger and Dana moved to Finley, Washington, in 1982. Roger later went to work for Horizon Air at the Pasco Airport as a General Agent for 7 years, finally retiring in 1994 to pursue hobbies of golf, travel, reading, painting, and crossword puzzles. Dana passed away in 2014 and later Roger met and married widow, Roxie Kremer who had had a 62-year marriage and they both enjoyed a second round of love and marriage while enjoying Roxie's very large family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Helen Bowlin, wife Dana and grandson Kyle Jacob Wood. He is survived by his wife Roxie, brothers; Howard Bowlin (Gail), Duane Bowlin (Sue), children; Deborh Wood (Randy), Michael Bowlin, Elizabeth York (Brian), grandchildren; Lori Sakota (Andrew), Brian Schmidt, Jacob York, and great grandchildren; Cierra, Kylie, and Trenton Sakota, Alexandria and Isabelle Schmidt.
