Obituary

Rodney "Rod" A. Hansen was born January 10, 1951 and passed away at his home on January 9, 2026.

Rod grew up, and continued to live in Pasco all of his life. He was a devoted son, and cared for his mother in her remaining years. He is survived by his sister Debby, her children Carlee and Nick, and many cousins. He will especially be missed by his long-time friends (and their children) from Yakima and Spokane.

Rod worked for McCurley Chevrolet for many years as a Wholesale Auto Parts Associate. His vast knowledge of cars and anything with an engine made him a valuable resource for friends and family. He loved restoring vehicles and buying hot cars. When he was young, he drove a Camaro (fast and flashy). He matured and moved into a Monte Carlo (classy and clean). And when he assisted his mother, he succumbed to a mini-van! He restored a Nova for his niece and a Chevelle for his nephew; gracious gifts from a generous man. He was definitely a "Chevy" man.

Rod also loved to golf, build golf clubs, and always offered encouragement to young kids to get out and learn to play the game. He gave away a lot of clubs. When he was physically able, he spent many hours playing at Sun Willows, or really any course that had an open tee time. He loved traveling with his parents on yearly golf excursions to Montana or the Oregon Coast.

Rod had suffered with health issues for most of his senior years. May he finally rest in Peace. At his request, no service will be provided.
